Simmons Living is the modern living-environment brand from a family of companies that has been engineering sleep for more than 150 years. We design, test, and build products for the rooms where rest, recovery, and daily life actually happen — which, increasingly, isn't just the bedroom.
The SomniCline is our first sleep recovery recliner. It exists because the bed isn't the only place people sleep, and for millions of adults managing reflux, apnea, surgery, or chronic pain, it isn't even the best place. We took everything Simmons has learned about coil systems, foam engineering, fabric performance, and frame durability across a century and a half — and we applied it to a category that hasn't seen real engineering investment in twenty years.
What we believe about sleep
Sleep is a recovery process, not a passive state. The position your body holds during recovery determines whether your tissues decompress, your lymphatic system drains, your airways stay open, your spine releases. A chair that doesn't account for the position is just furniture. A chair engineered around the position is medicine you can sit in.
That belief shapes every product we ship. We don't build for the showroom. We build for the room you actually live in — the room where you watch television, recover from surgery, manage chronic pain, and increasingly spend the night because the bed doesn't work for your body anymore.
How we work
Every product starts with a sleep or recovery problem we can name. Every feature has to solve it measurably — not as a marketing point, but as a measurable change in pressure, airflow, blood flow, or recovery time. If we can't prove the feature matters, the feature doesn't ship.
We use the testing infrastructure, the materials science, and the manufacturing relationships that Simmons has been building since 1870. That's not a marketing claim — it's an engineering inheritance. Pocketed coils. Multi-density foam systems. Frame engineering for repeated motion. Performance fabrics. These are the systems we know.
Where we're going
The SomniCline is the first product in the Simmons Living line. More are coming — all built around the same principle that sleep, recovery, and position are inseparable, and that the room you spend the most time in deserves furniture engineered for the body that lives in it.
